Docker experienced a major incident on July 29th in which tags pushed that day were not visible in Docker Hub, though the images themselves remained accessible for pulling. The company identified the issue at 14:27 UTC and began investigating missing tags that day.

Docker Hub is a widely-used registry for containerized applications, hosting millions of container images relied upon by developers and organizations worldwide.

Docker's team worked to restore missing tags through a backfilling process. During remediation, users experienced inconsistencies with newly added and deleted tags in the Hub interface, and webhooks and update notifications were re-sent multiple times. The incident was fully resolved by 18:21 UTC, with all Docker Hub functionality returned to normal and monitoring systems confirming successful remediation.
