Fly.io experienced IPv6 connectivity issues on a subset of hosts in its Dallas-Fort Worth region. Machines on affected hosts were unable to send or receive IPv6 traffic, though IPv4 connectivity remained unaffected. The incident was classified as major impact.
Fly.io is a cloud platform provider offering edge computing and container deployment services used by developers and applications requiring distributed infrastructure.
The platform identified that an upstream internet transit provider was performing regional maintenance expected to complete at 10:00 AM UTC. During the maintenance window, IPv6 connectivity to and from destinations using that transit provider experienced disruption. Fly.io's team investigated the issue and worked on a resolution in parallel with the upstream maintenance.
The incident has been fully resolved.
