Retool reports multiple service issues

Retool is dealing with 2 concurrent service issues — tracked live below.

By The Downtime · Aug 20, 2026 · 5:45 PM ·Updated 1 day ago

Retool's React App Builder is experiencing major issues with sandbox dependency installation on self-hosted instances. The company identified the problem after an initial investigation revealed downstream dependency issues affecting both Cloud and Self-Hosted deployments. The issue no longer impacts Retool Cloud, according to the provider's latest status update.

Retool provides a low-code application development platform that enables users to build internal tools and applications.

The incident began as an investigation into app builder sandbox failures preventing proper dependency installation and connection. Retool subsequently identified the root cause for self-hosted instances and is working to release fixed container images.

This is a developing story. The Downtime will provide updates as Retool releases fixes and confirms resolution.
